Ethical Stylist’s Guide to Summer: Gorgeous Ethical Coverups

There was a time in my life when I didn’t mind hanging out around a pool or lying on the beach in just my bikini. Unfortunately, those days are over (not here now, about to return?), so I like a coverup. And for those of you confident souls who have the confidence to rock your bikinis alone (yes! Keep it up!), sometimes you still have to walk through a hotel lobby or grab a quick bite. This list of ethical coverups is also for you!

Ethical Stylist's Guide To Summer: Ethical Coverups

While most of the time, I’ll just wear a sundress or my cutoffs, I found some beautiful and completely ethical coverups worth sharing. They are gorgeous, they are elegant, they are put together. And most importantly, they are made in a sustainable way, using fair and ethical labor practices and can double as dresses or tunics.

Here are my 4 of my favorite ethical coverups for this year’s bikini season

1. Cuyana

Two of their coverups are so beautiful, they most definitely double as a dresses. The other two, the oversized scarves, are also designed for (more than) double duty, as a scarf, a sarong, a turban, anything really. A minimalist and conscious shopper win. As with all things Cuyana, these are designed to be part of a lean closet, and everything should be loved and worn for a long time.

2. Vitamin A

As with all things Vitamin A, their coverups are Southern California beach inspired, designed and made in California, using sustainable materials. And because this is a line born and raised at the beach, there are so many perfectly ethical, perfectly beautiful options. For a beach vacation, a pool day, or just a trip to the park.

3. Eileen Fisher

Eileen Fisher makes almost all of my lists! While not exactly my personal style, I love their ethics and their Vision2020 goal, so I take a look at their stuff first. And, I am usually able to find one or two classics that I absolutely love, and that would be a timeless addition to my wardrobe. The Stripe Organic Linen Dress is one of those pieces.

4. CP Shades

I just discovered CP Shades this summer, which surprises me, because they are made near where I am from. They make sustainable, garment dyed, easy to wear pieces out of their solar powered factory in Sausalito, California. Their coverups are super chill and totally wearable.

There are so many great options out there, these are just a few of my favorites. The list is short because I absolutely love all of these, and can imagine wearing each one of them almost all year long. You definitely need a coverup for those January beach days!
