Standard Setters: Odina Surf

Standard Setters: Odina Surf

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of heading up to the Odina Surf office in beautiful (foggy) Redondo beach. I was introduced to Odina a while ago through an old high school friend, who connected me with Aaron Taylor, Odina’s founder, and shortly thereafter, I was sitting in his office!

I was so excited to learn about this amazing brand, and thrilled to tell you about it. Not only are these bikinis as super sexy as can be, they are truly setting the standard in swimwear. I can’t wait to hit my little Point Loma beach in one, and the let anyone and everyone know about their eco-credentials. From the recycled nylon to the organic cotton tags, to the 100% wind-powered site and all US manufacturing, these guys take eco-friendly very seriously!

I sat down with Aaron Taylor, Odina’s founder, and he told me about their manufacturing in LA, a little about what Odina’s future holds (more recyclables, less waste, just as sexy!), and about the amazing women wearing Odina (these suits are surfer tested, rather than modeled, and they stay put). We talked about individual projects the team is working on (I am super excited about Allison’s plastic collection project). Within minutes, I realized Odina is truly a standard setting company, led by a true standard setter.

Beyond their eco-friendliness, the team at Odina also works closely with Reef Check and the Ocean Girl Project on projects close to their hearts: protecting our oceans and getting girls surfing.

Odina is setting the standard all the way.

From Odina: An Odina girl lives her life to the fullest but respects the earth and all its inhabitants, all the while looking great doing it!

Aaron Taylor’s motto is “be the change you wish to see in the world,” and he is doing just that. We can’t wait to tell you more and to show you all the great suits!
