Awesome Things Happening In Ethical Style

Awesome Things Happening In Ethical Style. It's Not all Doom and Gloom. Some Amazing People are doing some amazing things. Lately, it seems like there has been a lot of doom and gloom surrounding the environment. Between the IPCC report on climate change from a few weeks ago, the climate change deniers running for office, and the Vox’s report on how hot our cities will be by 2050 (pretty sure ours is already much warmer than the 30 year average. Or at least the stretch of 110+ degree days made it seem like that), it feels pretty discouraging. So, it is always nice to hear some good news about the environment and the awesome people working to make change. I decided that I need to pay closer attention to that! So, I am going to start a semi-regular series called “Awesome Things Happening In Ethical Style.” I can’t promise that I’ll post to this section regularly, but as I think of it, I will!

Starting today, when I find awesome things happening in ethical style, I will post them here! And if you are doing something awesome in ethical style, let me know. I could use some good news!

If you’ve been here for awhile, you know how much I love Bhava boots, and all that they stand for. Today, Francisca, their designer announced the new Paris boot is available for pre-order. It is gorgeous, but even more beautiful than the boot itself, is Bhava’s commitment to ethical fashion. These are the most stunning boots she’s ever created, and they are offering 20% off your pre-order using code PARIS20. If the Paris isn’t for you, shop around. Here’s $30 off any purchase.  For more, take a look here.
Everlane is breaking up with Plastic Everlane has been criticized for not being environmentally conscious enough. Because of their tagline, “Radically Transparent,” I suppose they set themselves up for the criticism. I believe that ethical fashion is more of a journey. That goes for companies as well as consumers. So, I don’t entirely agree with the criticism. I believe they could do more but so could I, so no judgement here. So, when they announced that they will be virgin-plastic free by 2021, I was thrilled (and this means in their products, shops, offices, shipping, everything!). More on that here.
