1. I just picked this up and am so excited. It is a long one so will probably keep me busy during these winter weeks. Isn’t starting a new book so thrilling?

2. It is so great when ethical beauty goes mainstream. Huffington Post recently posted 11 amazing, eco-friendly beauty finds from Whole Foods. While a few (Dr. Bronner’s,Burt’s Bees) are regulars on my shopping list, there are quite a few I can’t wait to try!

3. With a new year and a new home, I have been really obsessed with redecorating, and doing so in the most environmentally friendly way. Vintage Revivals is now a regular stopping place. After some painting and organizing, this is my next project!

4. Last year, I was doing a lot of driving. With my recent move, my hour and a half commute has been limited to 2 days. I now have time to get back into slow cooking. With that, I spend a lot more time thinking about the food I eat every day. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Cooked: A Natural History of Transformation by Michael Pollan. Here’s to a more nourishing life!

5. I have never seen such a beautiful calendar. Thank you Lucille Michieli!
